Ingredients

  • ( 350 grams) Lean beef rump steak
  • ( 2 cup) Green beans
  • ( 6 stems) Fresh spring onion
  • ( 4 cloves) Raw garlic, peeled
  • ( 5 tsp) Raw ginger, peeled
  • ( 2 tsp) Unsalted sesame seeds
  • ( 6 leaves) Raw silverbeet
  • ( 1 cup) Brown rice
  • ( 1/2 tsp) Ground black pepper
  • ( 3 tbsp) Vegetable oil
  • ( 500 ml) Tap water

Method

  1. Cook the rice, following the instructions on the packet.
  2. Cut the beef into strips and set aside.
  3. Slice the spring onion, crush the garlic, and grate the ginger.
  4. In a large pan, heat the oil. Cook the beef for 3–5 minutes.
  5. Add the spring onion, garlic, and ginger and cook for five (5) minutes.
  6. Blanch the beans and silverbeet in a pot of boiling water for 1–2 minutes. Then drain the beans and silverbeet and add them to the pan with the beef.
  7. Serve with the rice.
